1 - 18 "Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck." The psalmist is suffering and it reminded me of this Radiohead video (especially from about 2:03 on).
18 - 28 - The psalmist asks for protection from God's enemies.
29 "I am in pain and distress; may your salvation, O God, protect me."
30 - 36 - Praises
This is an excellent psalm for times of great stress.

1-4 Pleas for God to rescue him from torments of enemies. He doesn't know why the tormentors are enemies and he's having to restore things they accuse him of stealing but didn't take.
5 God knows the truth!
6-7 Don't let other Christians become discouraged or confused by looking at what's happening to him.
7-12 a list of how others have been treating him (badly)
13 Solution - prayer.
14-19 more pleas for rescue and comfort
20-21 more things that have happened to him
22-28 He vents specific things he'd like for God to do to punish them / destroy them.
29-36 "What I'll do for you" - PRAISE YOU. This really isn't how he'll repay God "if" God helps him. He's describing how and why God deserves praise JUST FOR BEING GOD. Prayer and praise are constantly present in his life, not just when he needs something.
