GIDEON continued

Gideon and his army were camped in preparation for battle. God told him that the army was too big for God to get credit so God told Gideon to announce to the army that "anyone who is afraid may leave". 22,000 men left leaving 10,000.
God said that there were still too many men and for Gideon to take the men to the river to drink. Those who lap water like a dog will remain, those who kneel will leave. 300 remained (hmmmmm sounds like a Spartan movie).
Gideon and his small army surrounded the enemy on cliffs surrounding the valley where the enemy was camped. Each man had a trumpet and an empty jar with a torch in it. On Gideon's cue they all broke the jars revealing the torches and blew their trumpets and shouted " A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!". All the enemy fled, even though "they were thick as locusts and their camels couldn't be counted any more than sand on the seashore". They pursued and destroyed the enemy army and killed their 2 main leaders.
It really was like the "300" movie. The VeggieTale of this is really good.
