Prayer for National Victory after Defeat
This prayer asks for God's help.
1 - 4 The psalmist feels the community is rejected by God - there have been natural disasters and the people have suffered.
5 - 8 The psalmist remembers that God has promised his protection.
11 - 12 The psalmist prays for help. "O grant us help against our foe, for human help is worthless. With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes." The psalm ends by acknowledging that God is all-powerful.
