Romans Seven

Romans 7

1 - 6 An Analogy from Marriage

Just as a woman isn't breaking the Law (commiting adultery) when she marries after the death of her husband, Christians have "died to the law through the body of Christ."

7 - 13 The Law and Sin

Paul states that the Law is not sin. 13b: "It was sin, working death in me thgouh what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might become sinful beyond measure."

14 - 25 The Inner Conflict

The law is spiritual and humans are flesh, "sold into slavery under sin." Great passage: "For I find it to be a law that when I want to do what is good, evil lies close at hand." We must become slaves to the law of God, but the conflict is that we are slaves to sin.
