1 - 11 The Temptation of Jesus

Jesus goes into the wilderness and the devil tempts him with 1) changing stones to bread (food - immediate pleasure) 2) jumping from the mountain (pride) and 3) the worship from kingdoms of the world. Jesus declines

12 - 17 Jesus Begins his Ministry in Galilee

Jesus goes to Capernaum to preach, in order to fulfill prophecy. He began to proclaim, (17) "Repent, for the kingdom of God is near."

18 - 22 Jesus Calls the First Disciples

Jesus meets Simon, Peter, and Andrew fishing by the Sea of Galilee. He says (19) "Follow me, and I will make you fish for people." They immediately drop what they are doing and follow him.

23 - 25 Jesus Ministers to Crowds of People

Jesus' ministry broadens.
